Creo que pasados los efectos de la victoria de ayer de la Selección de España ante la Selección de Holanda, en la disputada Final de la Copa del Mundo, y una vez los jugadores regresen con la copa y se den un baño de multitudes —sin duda merecido— es cuando más ciudadanos se van a despertar con la indignación por la forma en que determinadas marcas y centros comerciales les han tomado el pelo sin ningún tipo de pudor.
Las asociaciones de consumidores ya advertían hace días, más o menos desde cuando España pasó a la Final, que estuvieran atentos a la posibilidad de que les negaran la devolución del dinero invertido en compras, si España ganaba. Y España ganó. Pero con esa victoria, vendrán las subidas de temperatura por parte de los ciudadan@s que no vean satisfecho el ‘compromiso’ adquirido.
La cadena Media Markt lanzó la campaña ‘Si España lo gana todo, tú lo ganas todo’ por la que ‘si comprabas en Media Markt una televisión desde el viernes 4 de junio hasta el lunes 7 de junio, un proyector o un monitor TFT, te devolverían el dinero si la Selección Española de fútbol ganaba todos los partidos de la primera ronda del Mundial de Fútbol de Sudáfrica y se proclamaba campeona.’
Está claro que España no lo ganó todo, porque perdió ante Suiza, así que, quien no le prestara atención a ese ‘pequeño’ detalle, no podrá reclamar nada por más que tampoco podrá dejar de sentirse engañado. Si se gastó mil euros en un buen televisor para ver cómo sufría ‘la Roja’ ante ‘la Naranja’, ahora tendrá que sufrir porque no podrá reclamar ni un chavo.
Toshiba promocionó su campaña en la que decía ‘Compra un nuevo portátil Toshiba con el nuevo procesador Intel Core i5 del 2010, o un televisor Toshiba, y si España gana la final te devolvemos todo tu dinero’… Pues Toshiba, ‘está negando el importe de los ordenadores portátiles y televisores de su campaña ‘Si la Roja gana, tú ganas’ a los usuarios que no se registraron en su página web, según informa Facua que ‘se ha dirigido a Toshiba advirtiéndole que su publicidad no indicaba que fuese necesario realizar un registro en Internet’.
De España se ha dicho muchas veces que es un país de pandereta y parece que algunas firmas lo han asumido como una buena manera de tomarnos el pelo descaradamente.
Saben perfectamente que pocas veces —por no decir ninguna— leemos la letra pequeña —siempre tan pequeña, que no podríamos leerla sin ayuda de un microscopio y con un abogado al lado— de las promociones o contratos. Y así nos va. Nos la dan con queso una vez sí y otra también.
Yo suelo rehuir de este tipo de reclamos, porque una vez enganchado, es muy difícil salir sin indignarte; pero lo que tengo claro, es que empresa o marca que me la juegue, me la paga. Quiero decir, que sea lo que sea que me propongan en lo sucesivo al engaño, aunque lo regalen, no seré yo uno de los ‘afortunados’. Paso.
Un ejemplo de ello, es una experiencia que tuve con una operadora de telefonía móvil —aquí la puedes leer— a la que suelo despachar siempre que me llaman para venderme la moto. Sobre estos episodios, me acojo a una máxima: si me engañas una vez, la culpa es tuya; si me engañas otra vez, la culpa es mía.
Las compras no deben ser nunca impetuosas; hay que racionalizarlas, valorando siempre si de verdad necesitamos lo que compramos, si el artículo es el que se ajusta a nuestras verdaderas necesidades —no comprar un televisor de 80 pulgadas para colocarlo a 2 metros del sofá— y sobre todo, si la tienda nos garantiza la devolución del dinero si no quedamos satisfechos, juntamente con los días de que disponemos para probarlo —hay quien te da una semana y hay quien te da dos, o tres o un mes— y un detalle importante, si el televisor de marras no está ya desfasado y en cuatro días podríamos adquirir uno mejor por 50 euros más.
Ayer sufrieron con el partido muchos aficionados… hoy tendrán que sufrir con la tienda o marca que, moralmente —aunque legalmente no sea así— les ha ‘engañado’. La diferencia es que pese al sufrimiento, ‘la Roja’ cumplió al final con sus expectativas; la publicidad, les manipuló sutilmente haciéndoles creer que ganaban algo, cuando en realidad lo perdían todo.
Bueno, todo no, siguen teniendo un televisor o un ordenador.
